  • Can I bring my dog on the boat?
Well behaved dogs are very welcome on our trips.
  • Can you accommodate wheelchairs?
Sorry, not right now, but we are working on this! Our toilet is already accessible however there is still a step onto the boat from the boardwalk which we are looking into options to cater for wheelchairs in the future.
  • Is there a toilet on the boat?
The Mercia Swan: On board the Mercia Swan, there is a toilet and hand washing facilities however we recommend using the Marina facilities prior to your trip where possible as the toilet system onboard is limited and basic. The Boat Street Cafe: Unfortunately there is no toilet facilities on board the Boat Street Cafe. The closest toilets are located next to the Willow Tree Tea Rooms a short 3 minute walk from the cafe. Hand Sanitiser is available upon request.
  • Do you offer gift cards for boat trips?
Yes, our Boat Street gift cards are valid for both the Mercia Swan and Boat Street Cafe.
  • Do I have to pay for Infants (Under 1)?
According to the Inland Waters Small Passenger Boat Code (which governs our maximum 12 passengers), Under 1's do not count towards the total 12 and therefore are FREE to bring along and do NOT require a ticket. Simply bring them along with you.
  • Where do I find you?
Boat Street Cafe can be located next to Streethay Wharf. Simply park up, walk back to the main marina entrance and look for the signpost (Walks & Wildlife Trail / Workshop & Cafe Boat). Follow the path behind Midland Chandlers, over the wooden bridge and you'll see the Boat Cafe on your left. At 71 feet long, she's not hard to miss! The Mercia Swan is much easier to find and moors next to the Parker Hall estate agent boat directly opposite the Beetroot Tree Cafe and the White Finn shop. Easily identified as the green wide beam with cream roof and fairy lights. If she's out on a trip, then simply wait on the boardwalk and you'll see her return usually 15 minutes before the next trip. If for any reason you can't locate us, head to the Marina Office where they'll be more than happy to help or contact us
  • Can I bring my own food and drink on board the Mercia Swan?
We do not permit outside food or drink on board as we have a licensed bar, soft and hot drinks, snacks and even food available from our sister boat, the Boat Street Cafe (No.1 on trip advisor in Willington). If you wish to bring your own drinks on board we are able to offer a corkage fee. For private charters we can also provide a buffet at £10 per person. Alternatively we have no collaborated with the Lotus Indian and Boardwalk. Simply pre-order from their boat menu's 24 hours ahead, pay and collect 10 minutes before your trip, and enjoy on board. Menu's below.
  • How many guests can the Mercia Swan hold?
Our license (governed by the Inland Waters Small Passenger Boat Code) permits a maximum of 12 passengers onboard the Mercia Swan. For private charters, we may be able to employ a skipper with an extended license for up to 22 guests subject to their availability between Monday to Thursday. Please contact us to enquire prior to requesting a booking. There is an additional charge totalling £150 per hour (minimum 2 hours for this service).
  • Can I cancel my trip?
Tickets are non-refundable, but we appreciate plans may change unexpectedly from time to time. In exceptional circumstances, please call us at least two hours before your sailing time and we may be able to issue a voucher to re-book in future.
